Characters: A white or almost white crystalline powder, odorless. Freely soluble in chloroform; sparing soluble in acetone and in dioxane; slightly soluble in ethanol and in ether; insoluble in water.

Use: Corticosteroid. It is mainly applied to collagenic disease, such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid heart disease, rheumatic fever, dermatomyositis and so on.
