Function:

1. Treatments for fevers, colds and infections:

As a nature aspirin, salicin is used to treat mild fevers, colds, infections (influenza), acute and chronic rheumatic disorders, headaches, and pain caused by inflammation.

2. Pain Relief in Osteoarthritis and low back pain:

Salicin is thought to be the source of the anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving actions of willow. The analgesic actions of willow are typically slow to develop but may last longer than the effects of standard aspirin products.
